What CarerCompass collects

CarerCompass does not collect personal information directly. There is no user registration, no login, no account, and no form submission that sends data to our servers.

The following types of data may be collected or processed through third-party services used on this site:

• Analytics data — We use Google Search Console to understand how people find the site (search queries, page impressions, clicks). This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
• Advertising data — Pages on this site that carry content (guides and blog posts) display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve relevant ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. See below for full details and how to opt out.
• Standard server logs — Like all websites, CarerCompass is hosted on servers that record standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time of visit). These logs are used for security monitoring and are not used to identify individual users.

Your tool data — stored on your device only

The following tools store data exclusively in your browser's local storage. This means the data lives only on your device and is never transmitted to CarerCompass or any third party:

You can clear this data at any time by using the "Clear data" button within each tool, or by clearing your browser's local storage through your browser settings. Clearing your browser cache or cookies will remove this data.

The Local Support Finder uses your browser's geolocation API (with your explicit permission) to find services near you. Your location is used only to perform the map search and is not stored or transmitted to CarerCompass.

Google AdSense and advertising

CarerCompass displays advertisements on its guide pages and blog posts through Google AdSense. These advertisements help fund the site and keep the content free.

Google AdSense uses cookies to personalise the ads you see based on your browsing history and interests. Specifically:

• Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to CarerCompass and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.

CarerCompass links to government websites, helplines, and other external resources. These sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Children's privacy

CarerCompass is designed for adult family carers and does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of CarerCompass after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
